Dining out locally is one of the fun parts of being a Realtor ®. I get to take clients to those hidden gems that showcase the unique personality of the neighborhoods our team serves like Andersonville and Ravenswood. Here are two recent discoveries I’ve made.
When you venture south of Winnemac on Clark Street to Ceres Table, you’ll find great food with Italian flair. They carry an extensive wine list, unusual appetizers and entrees. Try the baby octopus, country pate and the Crab Louie appetizers. On our last we had the flat iron steak and the lamb shank entrees. In a word, it was delicious. The ingredients were very fresh and beautifully presented. Dessert was a wonderful chocolate and ice cream delight. With easy local transportation, you can take the Clark Street bus or the Red Line El to either Argyle or Lawrence and walk west.
If you’re looking for a different experience altogether, then try Mixteco Grill in Lakeview. The cuisine is Mexican fusion with hints of Rick Bayless’s style and BYOB. The atmosphere is extremely fun which draws a healthy crowd on a regular basis so get there early. The food is beautifully prepared and served with extremely fresh ingredients. Mixteco Grill is located at the corner of Ashland and Montrose, which is an area attracting more and more great places for dining. You can take the Brown Line El to Montrose and walk east.
Regardless of where you choose to dine in the neighborhood, these are two locations that deserve a second glance.
