The owner of local diner, Glenn’s Diner, says it very succinctly when talking about his philosophy.   The locale was “created from the desire to Re-Invent the Diner.”   With a history rich in the enjoyment of seafood, you’ll always find fresh daily specials.

In between appointments to show real estate last night, I had dinner at Glenn™s Diner which is located at 1820 West Montrose in the Chicago neighborhood of Ravenswood.   Glenn’s is truly living up to its mission as a neighborhood spot – I ran into my next door neighbors while there.Glenn's Diner

This diner does not disappoint as shopping local continues to be the greatest source of forging ahead in our current economic climate.   With great food, reasonable prices, and fun atmosphere featuring music of the 60s and 70s, Glenn’s offers 16 different fresh fish on the menu (more than any other restaurant in Chicago).

The fresh daily specials include the very unique (Gonzo Tiger Shrimp) to some of the more traditional (Red Snapper).   And if you arrive by 5:00, order their œfirst catch that includes soup, salad, veggies, potato and entrée for $14.95. Even though I didn’t have time for it, desserts like brownie pie, sounded wonderful.

It’s easily accessible from the local Brown Line “L” (elevated train for visitors) about 1 block west of the Montrose stop.   If you™re driving west on Montrose, it’s just ½ block west of Ravenswood Avenue with ample parking on Ravenswood south of Montrose.
