DOG DAY ON THE GREEN AT MONTROSE BEACH IN CHICAGO

Calling all dog lovers!   The City of Chicago is hosting its 2nd Annual Dog Day on the Green on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 9am-4pm at Montrose Harbor near the Montrose Beach house.   This is a free family friendly festival that celebrates Man’s Best Friend – dogs!

Festival features include national pet experts to present sessions on dog obedience training, dog safety for kids, dog body language, and other topics.   Attendees can learn about the city’s dog friendly areas such as Montrose Harbor Dog Beach and how to register one’s dog in Chicago.   Dog owners can learn about dog health from top vets and work with their dogs on an agility course.   Would-be dog owners can adopt a dog from Chicago Animal Care and Control.

This event is a partnership of city departments, civic organizations, and individuals which include the Chicago Park District, Chicago Animal Care and Control, Safe Humane Chicago, Anti-Cruelty Society, PAWS Chicago, Pet Expert, WLS Radio Personality and Emcee Steve Dahl, and dog owners and advocates Jan Starr and Alicia Obando.

Enjoy a day at the beach with your dog!
