Chicago is an extremely diverse city broken up into neighborhoods, which are part of the defined 77 Community Areas. Each area was given its designation back in the 1920s for the purposes of a long-term population study.
As most native Chicagoans know, these areas are utilized more for governmental purposes and our neighborhoods are defined as a result of our culturally rich communities. Below is a recent list of all neighborhoods in the City of Chicago which you will see are subsets of the defined Community Areas.
