The Sulzer Regional Library is offering a new, free Book Buddies Program to students in K-2nd grade (or students who fall outside that range who want to work on their reading skills). Each student is matched with an intern for a half-hour time slot. The student and volunteer read a book together. Depending on reading ability, the intern will read to the student, or the student will read to the intern. If time allows, they will talk together about the book to help build reading comprehension skills.
Book Buddies takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm. Students can register by calling the Sulzer Library at 312-744-7616, Ext. 3. If you have any questions, please contact:

Also, get ready for the Chicago Library system to begin its annual Summer Reading Program which usually coincides with the beginning of summer break after school dismissals. Details to follow in a later blog.
