Location

 

Buena Park is a sub neighborhood of  Uptown, one of Chicago´s most historic and diverse neighborhoods.   It is bounded by Montrose Avenue to the north, Irving Park to the south,  Graceland Cemetery to the west, and Lake Shore Drive to the east. 

 

Community Info/ History

 

Buena Park is a primarily residential neighborhood, with spacious lots.  This  is in sharp contrast to the skyscrapers that surround the area.  The BPN is a very active neighborhood association, whose mission statement is to improve the quality of life for all in Buena Park. Buena Park is the oldest of the Uptown neighborhoods.  The area was originally founded by Robert A. Waller  in 1887, by subdividing his property.  Robert A. Waller´s original home is now the site of the St. Mary of the Lake Church. 

 

Real Estate

 

The housing market includes a few single-family homes.  The majority of the real estate lies with renovated condo´s, vintage flats, condo´s, and small apartment homes.

 

Transportation

 

This area boast excellent transportation options.  The CTA Red Line at the Sheridan stop gives you access to the L train. CTA Bus #144 run express for easy access from north to south.

 

Schools

 

There are several educational institutions in Buena Park, including The Walt Disney Magnet School, a Chicago Public School for K-8 grades. And a state accredited private school, Lycee Francais, that immerses student in both English and French.

 

Entertainment/ Restaurants/ Shopping

 

For Chicago Cub fans, Buena Park, is in walking distance to Wrigley Field and the night life and restaurants adjacent to  this area.  There are also  neighborhood pizzerias, café´s, and Starbucks.

Lincoln Park Beach offers something for everyone; running, hiking, boating, volleyball, fishing, biking, and walking, along picturesque Lake Michigan.
